Working on adding recipes from Pinterest that are vegan, whole food and clean I stumbled upon the banana split breakfast bar, from Clean Food Crush. Needless to say, I had to try it.
This dish helped me hit my carbohydrates for the day and was not too filling. The only thing missing was the added protein I needed to have with my FASTer Way To Fat Loss program. So, like with most recipes I doctor them up a bit.
1 medium banana
1 Silk non dairy vanilla yogurt
2 scoops of vegan organic protein (protein of your choice)
1/2 cup of sliced strawberries
2 tbs chopped walnuts or nuts of your choice
1 Tbs dark chocolate chips melted
Cut banana in half and place on a plate or bowl.
Mix in protein powder with yogurt. If it is too thick you may add in almond milk. Scoop onto plate between bananas.
Top with strawberries, blueberrie and walnuts.
Drizzle with melted chocolate.
This breaking fast dish has a whopping 599 calories. It gives you a big chunk of your carbs you need when you carb cycle on those days when you lift heavy. My Fitness Pal break down: 16grams fat, 32 grams of protein and 83 grams of carbohydrates.
